Rooms are spread across the three palaces, so no two floors feel identical. Palazzo Dandolo holds the highest ceilings and the Gothic windows; Casa Nuova is quieter and more classical; the Excelsior wing carries the upper floors closest to the roof terrace. A large share of accommodations face the Bacino di San Marco directly, and there is an unusual number of connecting configurations for a building of this age.

The entry categories, and no less carefully made for it. Expect Venetian terrazzo underfoot, Rubelli silk on the walls, a Murano glass fixture overhead and a marble bathroom with a deep tub or walk-in shower. Windows open onto the rooftops of Castello or the hotel's inner courtyards.

The reason most people book the Danieli. Windows face the Bacino di San Marco with the island of San Giorgio Maggiore and its Palladian church straight ahead. Vaporetti cross at first light, the water changes colour hourly, and the view is the same one Turner painted.

A generous open-plan room with a defined sitting area — the right choice for a longer stay, when a sofa and a writing desk begin to matter. Many sit on higher floors with wider outlooks over the water or the roofline.
One & two bedrooms · Palazzo Dandolo
In the 14th-century wing, where the ceilings are highest and the history is thickest. Extra-spacious one-bedroom suites pair a separate living room with a dining table for six, a guest powder room and a bedroom with an en-suite bath and full dressing space. Several are available as two-bedroom configurations. The top-floor suites look over the lagoon to San Giorgio.
Connecting · Families & groups
Few hotels in Venice can offer this many connecting rooms and suites — a consequence of joining three palaces together. Families and groups travelling as one can take an adjoining set, with cots, children's amenities and babysitting arranged in advance.
Good to know
For a first visit, yes. The view across the Bacino di San Marco is the single thing the Danieli has that almost no other hotel does. If you plan to be out from morning to midnight, a city-view room saves meaningfully and the rooftop terrace gives you the panorama anyway.
Palazzo Dandolo for atmosphere and the highest ceilings, Casa Nuova for quiet, and the Excelsior wing for proximity to the roof terrace and the widest water views. Note your preference in the booking comments — it cannot be guaranteed, but it is usually noted.
